Anne Chiu – A Life in Art

I discovered my passion for oil painting at 18, marking the beginning of a lifelong artistic journey. This passion led me to pursue a degree in Visual Arts at a university in Australia, where I honed my skills and deepened my appreciation for various art forms.

After completing my studies, I moved to Hong Kong, where I dedicated 30 years to teaching Visual Arts and English. Despite my commitment to education, I never stopped creating. Throughout these three decades, I continued painting and drawing, constantly exploring new techniques and subjects.

In early 2022, I decided to retire early, allowing me to focus entirely on my art. Since then, I have devoted my time to painting, sketching, and drawing, embracing the freedom to create without constraints.

I have a deep love for sketching, drawing and watercolor painting, finding joy in capturing the essence of everyday life. One of my greatest passions is ink drawing, particularly of flowers and plants, as I find their organic forms endlessly inspiring. Additionally, painting watercolor pieces of food brings me immense happiness and fulfilment, combining my love for art with the simple pleasures of life.
